Our second thank you goes out to our presenters. We thank them for sharing their valuable time and knowledge. Those who presented included: Cindy Adamson (Smart Notebook 11), Charlene Chausis (Lessons in ePUBlishing), Linda Houle (Web 2.0 the No Registration Way), Kelly Jonelis (Smart Board Math Tools), Roxanne Korpal (Social Media for Educators), Joe Melone (Internet Safety), Mariah Matariyeh (Glogster), and Stephanie Stieglitz with Michele Logan (Tech Clubs/Green Screen Moviemaking).
Finally a big thank you goes to our sponsors: ICE, Best Buy, Aver Media, CDWG, Comcast, Williams Group, Sister Mary Therese Freyman, Dan Merryman from Camcor, and Allison Knapp from New Bay Media (Tech Forum). We want to also recognize Vicky Peterson and Jeremy Meyers from the Downers Grove Best Buy on Butterfield Road who were available all morning to answer questions and give tech support when needed. We appreciated their assistance.
So with the spring mini-conference behind us we’ve planned ahead and set the date for our 2012-2013 mini-conferences. Mark your calendars now for October 13, 2012 and April 13, 2013. If you are interested in becoming more involved in chapter activities, the Board also set our meeting dates for 2012-2013 and invite you to join us. Check our chapter web site for meeting dates and time.
Now I’m sure for most of you the last thing you want to consider as summer approaches is a new school year. Yet as the school year winds down think about the opportunity summer offers to advance your technology skills, develop your PLN, or just have fun playing with tech. It’s a great time to heighten your comfort level with technology in preparation for a new school year. Reach out to those who might help you, explore the Internet with all its marvelous resources, and if a member of ICE take advantage of a fantastic learning tool – Atomic Learning. We hope everyone has a fun, relaxing and wonderful vacation with some great ‘techie’ times thrown in.
